Dear State of Kansas Senators and Representatives,

 

          The effort to initiate an investigation into allegations of insurance fraud committed by Blue Cross/Blue Shield of Kansas (BCBS-KS) and New Directions Behavioral Health of Kansas (NDBH-KS) remains ongoing.  Our State Senators have taken absolutely no interest in my request for assistance.  Attached are two letters recently revised and mailed to the addresses noted at the bottom of each letter.  I have also submitted the information to our new US District Attorney, Mr. William Barr. Additionally, I have sent an e-mail to our President Donald Trump to very briefly explain the problem and what may be the impossibility of finding any agency to investigation the allegations.  Below is a letter I received from the office of our newly appointed Attorney General, Mr. Derek Schmidt that was signed my Ms. Melanie Doherty.  Ms.Doherty explains in the letter she will forward my correspondence to the Kansas Insurance Department.  Of course, we all know from the responses previously received by those in the Kansas Insurance Department that Ms. Doherty is letting me know my concerns will not be addressed, and the paperwork I mailed her will be added to the pile of my previous mailings in that "black hole" known as the Kansas Insurance Department.

          President Trump is all too familiar with the suffering of those diagnosed with the disease of addiction.  First-hand experience has taught him the heartbreak addiction brings into the family circle.  It has been disappointing that no response was received from the Office of National Drug Control Policy located in Washington, DC.  The Office was established by an Executive Order President Trump signed on March 29, 2017, to address the crisis our Country is in related to drug addiction.  For whatever reason, my concerns have received no attention by this Office.  Daily, I read of all the personal attention each illegal immigrant in our Country receives including attorneys willing to fight for each to receive services none of these criminals have worked for.  Yet, the type of patient most affected by the abuse of BCBS‑KS healthcare benefits are middle‑class American citizens who are employed and pay a monthly insurance premium that often includes coverage for a spouse and children.  This type of American forms the glue that holds our Country together.  Their children are our Country’s future. These people are not asking for a handout, they are asking for the chance they have earned to live as a clean and sober person.  And, no one is willing to investigate the reason they are not receiving the healthcare services they deserve.  It's absolutely wretched situation.
